Forged pipe caps are pipe fittings formed by forging in the pipe fittings manufacturing industry. The forming methods are divided into integral forging and split forging. Integral forging is formed by single heating and is suitable for pipe fittings with simple structures; split forging is a combination of segmented forging and welding, which is mostly used in the manufacture of pipe fittings with complex shapes. The production process mainly includes three categories: die forging, free forging and cutting. Die forging uses rolled profiles or steel ingots for die forging, which is suitable for small pipe fittings such as socket welding and threaded connections; free forging uses air hammers or hydraulic presses to forge approximate shapes, which are used for special structural pipe fittings; cutting directly turns bars or thick-walled pipes, and the material fiber flow direction must be consistent with the axial direction of the pipe fitting.
